How much did schools make on EA Sports games?

Electronic Arts and the Collegiate Licensing Company approved a $40 million dollar settlement last Friday to pay college athletes for their past likeness in video games. This could impact as many as 200,000 former and current football and basketball players.

The NCAA has already released statements saying that current student athletes who are eligible for the settlement filing can make a claim.

How much did the schools really make on EA Sports Video games? One factor on deciding how much $$$ was the rankings in the polls and appearances in bowl games or in March Madness.

The following data was obtained from ESPN's Sports Business analyst Kristi Dosh.

Louisville: “NCAA Football”: $85,845; “NCAA Basketball”: $26,594

UCLA: “NCAA Football”: $57,230; “NCAA Basketball”: $26,593

Clemson: “NCAA Football”: $85,845; “NCAA Basketball”: 18,616

Wisconsin: “NCAA Football”: $143,076; “NCAA Basketball”: $26,593

Texas A&M: “NCAA Football”: $57,000; “NCAA Basketball”: $18,615.80

As a final note, EA's NCAA Basketball game was discontinued in 2010 and EA will also be discontinuing the current NCAA Football.
