Clemson surges in latest Coaches Poll

Clemson (9-0, 6-0) moves up three spots to a #2 national rankings in the latest Coaches Poll with 1511 points (only 15 votes behind OSU) and 21 first-place votes on Sunday after an impressive 23-13 victory over Florida State on Saturday afternoon.

The #2 national ranking in the Coaches Poll is the highest rank for the Tigers since USA TODAY took over the poll in 1991.

The Tigers put up 512 yards of total offense which is the fifth consecutive game they had have at least 500 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, they held Florida State without a touchdown for 59 minutes of the game after the initial touchdown run by Dalvin Cook.

The biggest riser in the Poll was Northwestern that jumped seven spots to a #24 ranking while the Memphis Tiger had the biggest drop moving down nine spots to 25th overall.

Three schools dropped out of the Top 25 with #19 Mississippi, #20 Toledo and #24 Texas A&M.
