Havoline Football Saturdays will spotlight Sammy Watkins

Charlotte, N.C. – Raycom Sports’ multi-Emmy Award-winning summer television series, “Havoline Football Saturdays,” continues its tenth season with Episode 3 this weekend. The series, with six one-hour episodes, is hosted by Tim Brando and syndicated in 75 markets throughout the country.

As a freshman, he burst on the scene for the Tigers, setting records and helping them to the ACC title. An arrest before his sophomore season made him realize the importance of accountability. Find out how Watkins is motivated by the lessons he has learned in the last two years as the Tigers look for their second ACC title in the three years.

Visit with Syracuse quarterback Terrel Hunt. The Queens native lost his mother to cancer while he was in high school but one of her dying wishes was for her son to attend college. Terrel did just that by earning a scholarship and he is now fighting to start at quarterback for the Orange in their inaugural ACC season. But the sophomore is more than a football player, with his poetry a tribute to his mom and the struggles he has faced since her passing. Hear his inspiring words and his plans for the 2013 season.

Take a trip to Auburn where Toomer’s Oaks have been rolled with toilet paper in celebrations since Auburn’s win over #2 Alabama in 1972. After a rival fan poisoned the trees, Auburn was unable to save them and was forced to make the decision to remove the dying trees. See what Toomer’s Oaks have meant to the University and the city, and how this past April’s removal became a celebration of remembrance.

And ACC Road Trip travels to Tallahassee, where host Tommy Kane experiences gameday at Florida State. T-K visits with Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke, learns the tradition of Chief Osceola and Renegade, and tailgates before the Clemson-Florida State football game.
