has signed a two year contract (worth up to 8 million dollars) with the Tennessee Titans today.

Many believe this means the end of Ryan Fitzpatrick's role as backup quarterback for the Titans.

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt is very familar with Charlie Whitehurst because he was the Chargers' coordinator last year.

For his career, Whitehurst has completed 84 of 155 passes for 805 yards and three touchdowns. Whitehurst has made an estimated $85,000 per NFL pass attempt during his NFL career.

Whitehurst was drafted by the Chargers in the third round (81st overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft.
