Twitter reacts to Clemson's final Playoff ranking, matchup

The 2017-18 College Football Playoff field is set. And it's a rematch for Clemson (no, not that rematch).

Like the last two seasons, Clemson's spot wasn't in question on selection Sunday - just a matter of who that first opponent was and where they'd play: No. 4 Alabama and the Sugar Bowl, Jan. 1 (8:45 ET).

Since week 10's initial rankings, reaction to Clemson's spot has been strongest, negatively at least, from Oklahoma fans. The Tigers' No. 1 bid wasn't met with much opposition Sunday, however, after Clemson closed the final six weeks with three ranked wins, including Saturday's 38-3 win over No. 7 Miami.

The debate after championship weekend came down to weighing resumes and eye test with one-loss Alabama and two-loss conference champion Ohio State, and the committee opted for the Crimson Tide, which Kirby Hocutt called "unequivocally" better after a bye week.
