Notes from ACC teleconference on expansion

by -

*Swofford said '"revenue sharing is sacred" to the conference. This could mean that Texas, with the Longhorn Network, would not be considered.

*Swofford was asked about teams leaving the ACC, and he said, "We've got a pretty cohesive group in this league. That is not something I have lost sleep about."

*ACC's current exit fee is around $20 million

*Swofford refused to comment on what other schools are being targeted

*Swofford says conference comfortable at 14 teams, not financially opposed to 16 teams

*Big East stipulates that teams have a period of 27 months before they can leave the conference, and Swofford says ACC will stand by that rule. Look for negotiations on that one....Nebraska had a painful year in lame duck year in Big 12.

*Swofford says expansion allows ACC to reopen negotiations on contract with ABC/ESPN

*ACC has no idea on how it would realign the divisions
