Latest Clemson NCAA Tournament projections

Once promising NCAA Tournament projections have taken a dip with recent results for Clemson baseball. Monte Lee's Tigers may still not leave the state for a regional, however.

The run lately has been punctuated with a season-series sweep to nationally-ranked Georgia with a home series loss to Miami in the middle, who had lost nine of its previous 10 games going in.

Over a week-plus, Clemson's RPI has dropped from No. 5 to No. 20, holding a strength of schedule at No. 30.

Baseball America's Wednesday projection sends Clemson to Coastal Carolina for a regional. D1Baseball projected the same location before Tuesday's game at Georgia.

The placement would be a rematch of a home-and-home season series where Coastal won on a walk-off grand slam at home, 9-5, and Clemson topped the Chanticleers in Doug Kingsmore Stadium, 6-1.

The Tigers (26-11, 11-7) have hosted a regional in back-to-back seasons but are seeking advancement to the Super Regionals for the first time since 2010.

Clemson heads to Wake Forest (18-20, 10-8) this weekend, who has won two ACC series in a row (2-of-3 over Duke; swept BC) and won five of its last six games.
