Lamar on LB competition: 'It's intense every day'

Clemson junior linebacker Tre Lamar provided some insight Monday after practice into the daily competition at linebacker.

Lamar entered fall camp as one of several co-starters in defensive coordinator/LB coach Brent Venables' estimation. The former 5-star prospect and Roswell, Georgia product is working his way back from a shoulder injury that held him out toward of the end of last season.

"It's crazy," Lamar said. "Everybody has had snaps - meaningful snaps and that means a lot going into practice and going into games because everybody knows what it's like to be out there and has proven that they can be out there. It's intense every day but I feel iron sharpens iron and it's made everyone better."
