ESPN commentator Kirk Herbstreit predicted that Clemson would win the National Championship last season before the season started in 2016.

With that type of credibility, what teams does Herbstreit predict will have a chance to make it to the playoffs in 2017?

"Too early to lock the specific 4 down," Herbstreit tweeted on Friday. "But, FSU, Bama, Penn State, USC, Ohio St., Clemson, LSU, and Washington." LSU is the only team out of the eight schools that didn't go to a New Year's Six Bowl last season.

Clemson will begin their defense of their National Championship against Kent State on Saturday, 9/2 at Death Valley.
