Former Clemson WR named No. 2 WR for Cardinals |
Fifth-year NFL wide receiver
Jaron Brown is one tough cookie as he has battled back healthy from an ACL tear he suffered against the New York Jets in 2016. Brown had 11 catches for 187 yards in seven games last season.
Brown appears to have surpassed John Brown and J.J. Nelson on the depth chart for Arizona. "Larry Fitzgerald is the No. 1 wideout. [Jaron] Brown? “He’s No. 2 right now,” coach Bruce Arians said Tuesday to reporters. "I’ve been here for awhile,” Jaron Brown said via the Cardinals' official website. "Every camp is different. We obviously have injuries, and that gives me an opportunity. I just try to take advantage." “I wouldn’t say I’m undervalued. I feel like I’m used a lot – especially in practice.” In 2015, Brown had 11 catches for 144 yards (13.1 average) and a touchdown. In four seasons with the Cardinals, he caught 55 passes for 700 yards and five touchdowns, and he has also been a key member of their specials teams with 19 total tackles. Brown was undrafted by the Cardinals back in 2013 but made the team with an impressive display in rookie camp.
