Clemson makes final four for 5-star guard

by -

No. 1-rated 2019 point guard Josiah James trimmed his list to a final four of Clemson, Duke, Michigan State and Tennessee on Wednesday.

James visited Duke earlier this month and is reportedly set to visit there again in September, along with Clemosn and Tennessee before a final stop at Michigan State in October.

James told 247Sports in July that staying in-state is something that has crossed his mind.

"Distance doesn’t really matter to me, but playing for an in-state school would mean a lot to me," James said. "Playing close to home my family would get to see me and it’s only an hour and a half to South Carolina and three and a half hours to Clemson. I know that my fanbase will follow me wherever I go, but it really would mean a lot to stay at home, but that’s not going to be the deciding factor."

South Carolina was among the schools eliminated, along with Arizona, Kansas, Florida State and Virginia.
