will coach the Arizona Cardinals' outside linebackers for the next two seasons according to team officials.

Kirkland was hired under the program called the 'Bid Bidwell Coaching Fellowship' which helps retired NFL players get coaching experience.

A press conference is set for 3 PM EST to introduce Kirkland.

Kirkland was a second-round draft pick from Clemson in the 1992 NFL draft after being a consensus All-American in 1991.

He is a member of Clemson's All-Centennial team and inducted into the University's Hall of Fame in 2001.

For his NFL career, he had 1,029 tackles, 19.5 sacks, 11 interceptions and four forced fumbles. He played nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and a season each with the Seattle Seahawks and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kirkland was inducted into the South Carolina Hall of Fame in 2008.
