CFB analyst says "Welcome to the Playoff Clemson" |
Fox College Football analyst Joel Klatt discussed the College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings and is very confident that Clemson will make the top four at the end of the season.
"What we know now is that you don't have to bolster Clemson's resume," he said. "Why? Because they are beating teams by a margin that is staggering. Right now in their last four ballgames, Clemson is winning those ballgames by 240 to 36. Plus 204 in the scoring margin for Clemson and average of a 51-point win." Klatt has a conspiracy theory that Frank Beamer is stacking the lower-half of the rankings with ACC teams like Virginia, Syracuse, and North Carolina State. "They don't need your help committee," he said. "They are going to be in the playoff anyway. Welcome to the playoff Clemson Tigers. Well done because you're going. Listen you can book it. Clemson fans book it, man, you are in the playoff. Who in the ACC is going to beat you? I'll wait. Exactly no one is beating them. South Carolina is not going to beat them in the nonconference game at the end of the year." In case Mr. Klatt hasn't been following the ACC, No. 17 Boston College is a tough and physical opponent for the Tigers this Saturday. There is a reason that GameDay is there for the primetime matchup because of a chance that the No. 2 Tigers get a real challenge. However, Swinney and the Tigers will likely take it one game at a time and not look ahead like Klatt. Vegas odds have Clemson as 17.5 point road favorites.
