Bayless: Watson will win ROY if he starts with Texans |
Fox Sports One personality Skip Bayless said during his television show 'UNDISPUTED' on Tuesday that he thinks former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson has a great chance to win NFL's rookie of the year award and even compared him to Cowboys signal-caller Dak Prescott.
"I like Deshaun," Bayless said. "I liked him going into the draft and this is a huge if. If Bill O'Brien has the vision and the guts and the patience to start and stick with Deshaun Watson as a rookie quarterback and those are huge if's, Deshaun will win Rookie of the Year. It is Dak-like. He will be Dak Watson because he has fallen into a situation that is like Dak last year. It's rare, as you have always pointed out, for a quarterback to get drafted high and get to fall into a starting job with an offense that is packed with experience and weapons." In 2016, Watson completed 388 passes out of 579 attempts for 4593 yards and 41 passing touchdowns with 17 interceptions (and his degree) for an adjusted QBR of 84.9. For his career, he passed for 9,201 yards with 83 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. On the ground, Watson had 1,744 yards and 21 touchdowns during his time at Clemson. .@RealSkipBayless: If Bill O'Brien starts Deshaun Watson at QB, Deshaun will win Rookie of the Year.
