Tigers May Not Fall Past Orlando

by -

According to sources close to both Clemson and Tangerine Bowl officials, the Clemson Tigers will not fall past the Champs Sports Bowl. The December 27th bowl game would pit the Tigers against a Big 12 opponent most likely Nebraska. Officials for the Meineke Car Bowl stated last week that if available Clemson would be chosen to represent the ACC in Charlotte.

Clemson has won five of their last six games and are drawing major interest from all the bowls. Clemson has benefited from FSU losing its last three games. If the Seminoles lose against Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship, the Peach Bowl could become a strong possibility. Clemson has an outstanding reputation with the Peach Bowl.

Last week, the Peach Bowl did not seem like a strong possibility because it appeared South Carolina was headed for the Peach Bowl, and a rematch would not be likely. Now, all signs point to South Carolina being selected for the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Florida that would leave Georgia or Alabama left for the Peach Bowl.

A decision will not be made until Sunday December 4th, but according to our sources, the Tigers will not fall past the Champs Sports Bowl.
