What are the chances David Blackwell will be at Clemson next season? Bob, Greenville, SC
Coach Blackwell is a young and upcoming coach that will continue to get offers from other schools. Ultimately one day, he will be a head coach somewhere I believe. Our sources tell us that the defensive coordinator position at Clemson is the job he wants. If Coach Tommy Bowden goes in another direction, then Coach Blackwell will access his options and make the best decision for his career and family. Personally, I wish Coach Blackwell nothing but the best whether at Clemson or anywhere else.
What will be some key battles in the spring? Jared, Raleigh, NC
There will be several good battles to watch. I want to see how Michael Hamlin looks at free safety, the staff has raved about him. I will have to check and see if Roy Walker will be available in the spring. Courtney Vincent could make a serious push to fill in for Leroy Hill. Tribble Reese, Cullen Harper, and Will Proctor will have a big battle for the number two quarterback spot. Don't be surprised if Duane Coleman has a really good spring. I think Coleman would have had a very good year had he not broken his foot. Also, Justin Miller's decision will affect the cornerback position greatly. It should make for an interesting Spring.
When will Sam Perry begin playing more? Josh, Woodmont, SC
Perry is getting better everytime he steps on the floor. Cheyenne Moore is a little ahead offensively right now, but Perry is playing more minutes every game. I watched Perry play in high school last year, I thought then he was ready defensively but had some work on the offensive end. From what I have seen so far, I believe that assessment is pretty accurate. Perry provides great energy and aggressiveness to this team. I look forward to what he will bring to this program.
