Devin Hester vs. Justin Miller

by - Correspondent -

First off, if you are reading this to hope that I can decide who is the better of the two, that is a question that maybe only a deity knows the answer to. Both are very dangerous, but it is an interesting matchup because they have two very different styles.

Justin Miller

Miller has an explosive north-south running style. Miller lets his blocks set up and then hits a hole. Miller is not going to give the stop and go action. Power is a big part to Miller's running style. Although, he is a powerful returner, Miller definitely possesses the ability to make defenders miss. The best athlete on the team may very well be Miller.

Devin Hester

Hester would be best described to Clemson fans as a more powerful version of Derrick Hamilton. He uses slight hesitations to set defenders up and then explode by them. Hester is extremely elusive, go back look at the film of the Louisville game to see how dangerous Hester is. Hester will not make the initial explosion that Miller makes. Hester will wait until the coverage makes the slightest break from their lanes and then he is gone. Hester has an explosive first step that just makes him incredibly dangerous. Hester does not possess Miller's speed, but his agility and quick first step make up for it.

These guys are so dangerous we most likely will not see them get a chance to return Saturday night unless someone makes a mistake. Fortunately, Coker and Bowden are starting to let these guys play both ways, so we will get a chance to see two of the nations top playmakers in action.
