announced his commitment to Clemson in front of a national audience at Nike’s The Opening in Beaverton, Oregon Tuesday evening.

The four-star wide receiver from Tarpon Springs (FL) East Lake became 13th verbal commitment when he chose the Tigers over a narrowed list of Central Florida and Florida.

The No. 10 wide receiver in the country according to ESPN said that his visit to Clemson really opened his eyes to what the Tigers had to offer.

“I’ll take my talent to Clemson,” Scott told ESPNU after announcing his decision. ”I’ve liked them ever since I went there. I thought it was a good spot for me. I think I fit there.”

Scott had offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami (FL) Michigan, Mississippi St., Notre Dame, Ohio St. South Carolina, and Virginia Tech among others.

“It took a little bit for me to decide where I was going, but after I put things together, I knew where I wanted to go,” Scott said. “Those guys just helped out and I saw the brighter parts of it and I knew it’s what I wanted to do.”

The 5-11, 180-pound prospect said that he is looking forward to coming to Clemson and working with Clemson head coach Dabo SwinneyDabo Swinney

“Coach Swinney just said that he is going to coach me hard and he’s looking forward to me coming,” he said. “He just wants to me to come up there and do what I’m supposed to do.”

As a junior, Scott hauled in 64 passes for 995 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also returned five punts for 106 yards and three touchdowns.

As a sophomore, Scott hauled in 54 passes for 1,158 yards.

During East Lake’s 39-29 spring game victory over Largo (FL) Osceola, Scott caught touchdown passes of 68 and 90 yards and also returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and a 55-yard punt for a score. Scott finished the day with four touchdowns and 303 all-purpose yards.
