Ray Ray McElrathbey Update

Ray Ray McElrathbey Update

by -

It is important to reiterate that neither Clemson nor the ACC had the authority under the current NCAA legislation to interpret the rules any differently than was initially applied. As with many other situations, based on special circumstances, the NCAA has an appeals process using a waiver system. Please be advised that the waiver for Ray Ray McElrathbey will be sent on behalf of Clemson by the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson expects to hear back from the NCAA later next week.

Quote from John Swofford:

"The circumstances surrounding this situation are unique and deserve a special look from the NCAA. The ACC is in full support of the waiver being submitted on behalf of this young man and we certainly sympathize with his circumstances, which deserve compassion. The ACC will continue to assist Clemson in their quest for special consideration from the NCAA."
