Tommy Bowden Post Game Quotes

“The outcome of the game did not surprise me!”

“I agreed with Brad's decision not to talk to the media. Brad wanted to wait until today to talk to the media. I'm really happy for Brad and his family.”

“I like everything about this job but the game. It has been a long season.”

“Clemson had the #1 toughest schedule in the country. I didn't think a bowl game was possible. You never quit all year for the opportunity to go to a bowl.”

“This is more important to the seniors then to me. They get to go to a bowl in their final year... Clemson was eventually going to go to a bowl game.”

“ I felt that the team was really prepared... there were a bunch of momentum changes, you can't single out just one.”

“The game itself remains the same. It's the week before, preparations, and the results that count.”

Clemson Players Post Game Quotes

#1 Woodrow Dantzler – QB

That last touchdown was just a big time player making a big time play. Rod told me just to put it up there and he'd go up and get it. That play was all Rod. We knew how good South Carolina's defense was coming into this game. We knew we would have to con out and play hard to win the game. THeir front four is solid. My hats off to them, they played a great game. This-year we just wanted to come out and show everybody we could play. Beating your arch rival is just something extra that, comes with it. We had to win this game to be eligible for a bowl, and that was our main motivation for this game.

#46 Chad Carson – LB

We did what we had to today. I can feel for them (USC) right now. I know what players go through and its tough. I'm sure they will turn it around. We have confidence in what our coaches say. After the Virginia game, we were kind of surprised at how good we were and that we had a chance to go to a bowl game. A bowl makes everything worth it, all the hard work has paid off.

#76 Jason Holloman – DL

Its nice to have a little break with Thanksgiving now. All we do now is sit back and wait and see what bowl takes us. COach Bowden told us that if we wanted to lose this game we had the do it. But we said, hey, we're not going to lose and we are going to dedicate this game to Javis. We all wore the number 5 on our helmets today for him. We gave him the game ball and he's also going to get a helmet signed by all of us. We knew what we had to do this week to get back focused so we could win the game.
