Mickey Plyler's interview with Clemson commitment Dorell Scott on Monday. Listen to "Plyler on Sports" weekdays 3-5PM on 104.9FM (wccpfm.com)in Upstate SC. Also listen to the Sunday Night Recruiting Show with Plyler from 8-10PM. Have you made a decision? “Yes sir. I have decided to commit to Clemson.” What was the determining factors? “Brad Scott did a real good job recruiting me. He was more like a dad than a recruiter during this process. He came up to the school and made sure I got in the right classes before I even made my decision. That right there showed me that they were concerned about me and they cared so that’s what really helped me make a decision.” Talk about what makes you one of the highly ranked defensive lineman in the state. “I play hard. I go 100% every play, no matter what..even if my knee was about to fall off or something I would still go hard. I’m a hard nosed player. I use my quickness to get around offensive lineman. I just play extremely hard with all my heart.” What do you need to work on before you enroll in Clemson in the fall?
”I probably need to get my bench up a little more. I want to get quicker. Everybody in college is good so it will be a challenge.” You were selected to the Shrine Bowl this year. How did you feel you stacked up against some of the better players in the area? “I think I did pretty good. The dude that was in front of me was complaining like ‘to be so big you so quick’. He just kept saying things about me being quick. It felt good that someone that started for the North Carolina team and people for our team were saying I was real good and quick.” Do you know any of your stats from this past season? “I had 104 tackles, 5 sacks, and 19 for loss.” Who was your player host on your trip to Clemson this past weekend.? “Eric Coleman was my host. He showed me around. He showed me what college life was going to be like.” What were some of the positives from your trip? “Everything was nice. They invest a lot into their players. They have Vickery Hall just for the student-athletes. They have tutors, computers, everything you need to succeed.” Are you still going to take your visit to South Carolina this weekend?
“I’m not too sure about that. I’m going to talk to my mom about it, but I don’t think so.”
