Jamarcus Grant

OL

6-6, 335 pounds

Mullins High (Mullins, SC)

The fact that Mullins High offensive lineman Jamarcus Grant was named all-state, played in the North-South All-Star game, and was a high school All-American tells Clemson fans that the young man was one of the many solid recruits the Tigers landed on National Signing Day.

But in Grant, who chose Clemson over Florida, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and North Carolina, Clemson is also getting a young man with a strong work ethic and a good head on his shoulders.

“I have been following the workout guide that Clemson sent me,” Grant said. “I am squatting 550 pounds and my time in the 40 is five flat.”
“I am reporting to Clemson on July 5 because I want to get a head start and arriving early will give me the opportunity to live and work out with the team.”

Like the other members of Clemson’s freshman class, Grant, who has qualified, is looking forward to the upcoming season.

“I feel like we will do very well,” Grant said. “This is going to be a learning process for me. I want to learn as much as I can from our more experienced players because I feel it will help me make a bigger impact down the road. Red-shirting is a possibility, but with hard work, anything is possible.”

Grant’s position coach is Brad Scott, and the two keep in contact on a regular basis.
