Humphries Suspended for Bowl Game

by -

Clemson, SC-Clemson first-year freshman center Barry Humphries has been suspended from any postseason bowl game due to his arrest on a DUI charge in Clayton, GA on November 13, 2005. Humphries, a freshman, has served as the fourth string center this year and has been red-shirting this season.

"I have decided to suspend Barry Humphries from Clemson's bowl game due to his poor judgement and arrest on November 13,

2005,"said Head Coach Tommy Bowden. "Barry is red-shirting this

year and would not have participated in the game, but this suspension has meaning because he will not be allowed to travel with the team to the bowl site, and thus will not realize any of the benefits allowed student-athletes by the NCAA that accompany a bowl trip.

"He will also go through counseling and will be involved in community service projects."
