Ex-USC Lineman to Walk-on at Clemson
CLEMSON - According to mickeyplyler.com,
former Gamecock Donald Marshall will walk-on at Clemson and help to provide some depth on the offensive line.
Marshall had planned on transferring to Michigan State, but failed to get in. He then decided to visit Clemson and later to walk-on with the Tigers.
The 6-foot-6, 280 pound Marshall originally signed with South Carolina over Clemson in 1998 out of Stratford High in Goose Creek, SC. Marshall, an All-Lowcountry and Shrine Bowl pick, also drew interest from North Carolina State, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Marshall appeared in four games and started one at tackle as a freshman in the 1998 campaign for the Gamecocks, who went 1-10. In March 1999, South Carolina head coach Lou Holtz dismissed Marshall from the team for the violation of “unspecified team rules”.
This past season Marshall attended Garden City Junior College, but he did not play football.
