OFFENSIVE BACK

Miami quarterback Kyle Wright completed 17 of 27 pass attempts for a career-high 319 yards and a school-record-tying five touchdowns in the Hurricanes’ 47-17 win over Wake Forest on Saturday. The sophomore from Danville, Calif., equaled the school record held by Bernie Kosar, Steve Walsh, Ken Dorsey and Brock Berlin in just his ninth career start, and sat out the fourth quarter. Wright delivered his touchdown passes in bunches, as he struck for scores of 64, 15 and 11 yards in a 2:40 span in the second quarter and touchdowns of 76 and 10 yards in a 1:37 span in the third quarter.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Virginia tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson graded out at a season-high 85 percent in the Cavaliers’ 27-17 win over No. 24 Georgia Tech on Saturday. Ferguson, a senior from Freeport, N.Y., was paired against the Yellow Jackets’ Eric Henderson, who has led the ACC in sacks twice. The only quarterback pressure against the Cavaliers came when Ferguson was assigned to another player. Ferguson helped Virginia to 366 yards of total offense.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Boston College defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka had 12 tackles in the Eagles’ 30-10 win over NC State on Saturday. The senior from Indianapolis, Ind., had nine solo tackles and three assists, 3.5 sacks for 18 yards and 5.5 tackles for loss for 29 yards in the game. Kiwanuka anchored a defense that held NC State to just 59 rushing yards.

DEFENSIVE BACK

Maryland defensive back Milton Harris posted a game- and career-high 16 tackles in the Terrapins’ 33-30 win over North Carolina in overtime in Saturday. Nine of Harris’ tackles were solo stops, and the Lanham, Md., senior also had two tackles for loss and a forced fumble. The fumble that Harris forced came late in the fourth quarter, halting a North Carolina drive and giving Maryland the ball back with 3:16 to play.

SPECIAL TEAMS

Florida State linebacker Lawrence Timmons blocked his second punt of the season in the Seminoles’ 35-14 loss at Clemson on Saturday. Florida State was able to recover the blocked punt for a touchdown, tying the score at 14-14. The sophomore from Florence, S.C., also added one solo tackle in the game.

ROOKIE

Clemson running back James Davis had 17 rushes for 65 yards and two touchdowns in Clemson's 35-14 win over No. 17 Florida State on Saturday. Davis, a freshman from Atlanta, Ga., was Clemson's top rusher on the day, scoring on runs of one and eight yards. He also had 44 receiving yards in the game.
