touchbacks. His punting average was 39.8 yds.
What has Clemson said you will be doing?
"They want me to come in next year and hopefully take over the kickoff
job. They will give me a chance to compete with Aaron Hunt for the field goals,
but he is real solid on that. He will be a senior So hopefully I can kickoff as
a freshman and take over field goals as a sophomore."
How long have you been kicking?
"I actually never thought about kicking. I tried out for football
in middle school in 7th grade, and I made it as a wide receiver. One day he asked
if anybody could kick and no one has ever played soccer so he asked me to come
out there. I kicked pretty good, and he said I was more valuable as a kicker than
I would be as a wide receiver. "
Are you going to take any other visits besides the one to Clemson?
"I'm thinking about going down to Florida State because it's Florida
State. I was going to take one to Georgia to just go down there, but they ended
up offering another kicker, and he committed to them so that took them out."
Was it a hard decision to commit to Clemson?
"No not really. It got kind of tough in the middle of the year when
Clemson had lost like three in a row and Georgia was rolling. It got tough there to
stay with Clemsonm, but then I always knew that is where I wanted to go. That's
where my heart is."
What coach is recruiting you for the Tigers?
"Coach Lovett."
Are you doing any recruiting for the Tigers during this Shrine Bowl week?
"I'm really working Rodney Kinlaw pretty hard. We could use him.
I brought a playstation 2 so all the guys come in there and hang out. Me
and Marion (Dukes) are talking to all of them. He is working Eric Young
pretty hard."
