Clemson Injury Situation:


Khaleed Vaughn-starting defensive end, Out--arthroscopic knee
surgery on Sunday, October 5. Suffered knee injury at Maryland


Airese Currie-Starting wide receiver, Doubtful, ankle injury
suffered at Maryland


Eric Sampson-Starting linebacker, doubtful, ankle injury
suffered at Maryland


Charlie Whitehurst-Starting quarterback--Questionable-foot
injury suffered at Maryland.


Toure Francis-Starting cornerback--Probable-ankle injury
suffered at Maryland.



Lineup Notes:

Junior defensive end Mo Fountain will make his first
college start at defensive end in place of Vaughn. He has played
130 snaps in the first five games, has one sack and nine tackles.
Tony Elliott will start in place of Currie and Lionel Richardson will
start in place of Sampson. Both are original walk-ons to the Clemson
program. It will be the 37th career game for Elliott, but his first
career start. It will be the second start for Richardson, who
started the season opener against Georgia. Tye Hill will start at
cornerback. The starting tailback position will be a game time
decision between Yusef Kelly and Duane Coleman.



Other Notes:


Clemson linebacker Leroy Hill ranks third in the
nation in tackles for loss per game according to statistics released
this week by the NCAA. Hill averages 2.40 tackles for loss per game
(12 in five games), third in the nation behind Phillip Alexander of
Duke and Jason Babin of Western Michigan. Hill is also 13th in
overall tackles per game (12.2) and fourth in solo tackles per game
(9.6).



Homecoming/Solid Orange Day


Saturday's game will be homecoming. Clemson is 27-3-2 on homecoming
games since 1971. This game has also been designated One Clemson - Solid
Orange Day. Each fan attending the game will receive an Original
Solid Orange - One Clemson Tiger Rag. Clemson fans are encouraged to
wear orange.Clemson athletic teams are 3-0 so far this year in the
One Clemson - Solid Orange Day games. The men's soccer, women's soccer
and volleyball teams each gained victory over South Carolina in their
Solid Orange Games.
