Clemson Football Practice Update

Clemson, SC-Clemson concluded its third and final day of two-a-day

practices on Monday. Tommy Bowden's Tigers will scrimmage on

Tuesday morning prior to the beginning of school on Wednesday. The

normal one practice per day schedule will begin on Wednesday afternoon. All practices are closed to the public.

Bowden was pleased with the performance of the offense on Monday, especially in the afternoon session. "We hit some big plays on offense in the afternoon," said Bowden. "We have a high risk and reward offense and we had been just a few inches off until this

afternoon. La'Donte Harris (Freshman from Gadsden, AL), Curtis

Baham (junior from New Orleans, LA) and Chansi Stuckey (sophomore from Warner Robbins, GA) all made big catches. I wanted to see some leadership on offense after Saturday's scrimmage (when the defense

dominated) and I saw that today."

Bowden said C.J. Gaddis stood out in Saturday's scrimmage after watching the film, something he had not commented on at the conclusion of the scrimmage. "After watching the film it was apparent that C.J. Gaddis really played well. He played the entire scrimmage with the number-one defense because Justin Miller had an ankle sprain, and he really played well.

"Justin has played very well this fall as well and he was back for both practices on Monday. He had a good day. In the morning session Tye Hill had two interceptions against the first team, and he has continued to play well. Those three corners have really looked good so far this fall."

There were two new injuries off the Saturday scrimmage.

Freshman offensive tackle Christian Capote suffered a sprained ankle and freshman defensive tackle Chris McDuffie suffered a bruised leg.

Both missed both practices on Monday and could miss Tuesday's scrimmage.

Bowden also said that starting offensive guard Chip Myrick

continues to miss practice due to mononucleosis. He will probably

miss the rest of the week. Nathan Bennett, who started six games last year, including the win over Florida State, has moved into that number-one spot. "Nathan has played very well, especially the last

three or four practices. He looks like he wants to take advantage

of an opportunity."
