Bullard feels at home at Clemson during visit

CLEMSON – Jonathan Bullard understands he is in a special situation, and plans to make the most of it.

The Crest High School (Shelby, NC) defensive tackle (6-4, 255) will be one of the top prospects in the state of North Carolina this coming season, and already boasts offers from Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina State and Virginia.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney offered in person during Bullard’s visit to Clemson on Saturday, but Bullard said he doesn’t have a favorite at this point.

“I really don’t have any leaders right now,” Bullard told TigerNet Sunday night. “I am just trying to take everything in right now, and gather up all the information. I like Clemson a lot, and this weekend’s visit was great. But I am going to visit Tennessee on the 26th and I will probably visit Florida on March 18th.”

Bullard said that Clemson’s sense of family has already made a huge impression – on him and his mother, who went to high school with Clemson secondary coach Charlie Harbison.

“I just like it that when I go there, they make me feel at home,” he said. “They always say that going to Clemson is like joining a big family, and my mom likes that. She likes going to Clemson, and they talk to her about the academics and she likes that, too. It is a nice place, and I really like it.”

As a junior, Bullard tallied 107 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 16 sacks, making him a hot commodity, and he said he is going to enjoy every minute of the process.

“Being a D1 prospect is not something that everybody gets to be,” he said. “I am really enjoying this. I like doing all of the little interviews, and getting to meet all of the coaches and seeing all of the schools and how they work. I am enjoying it right now. I am sure that if I keep doing what I need to do, and working hard and playing hard, that I will have a lot more to deal with eventually. I am sure it will get nerve wracking. But I am loving it.”
