Adams edges out Corey Simon for ACC Defensive Player of the Year
Adams needs just three tackles in Clemson's Peach Bowl game to establish a new school record for tackles per game.
CLEMSON, SC -- Averaging an NCAA best 16 tackles per game, today Keith Adams was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year in an award ceremony held in Atlanta, GA. He edged Florida State's Corey Simon out by 4 votes.
Known as the Termite, Adams had 176 tackles, with 33 for a loss.
"This is one of the finest moments of my life," Adams said. "It is an honor for the whole program." .
Last week, Adams was also named to the Football News All-America first-team. In all, the sophomore linebacker from College Park, GA. has set five Clemson records, including tackles in a game. He set that mark in the last regular season game of the year at South Carolina when he had 28 tackles.
