DURHAM, N.C.—After spending much of the season ranked No. 2, Vanderbilt ascends to the top of the Baseball America Top 25 after its weekend series victory at Arkansas.

The path to the top spot was cleared by South Carolina's series win at then-No. 1 Florida, which had been atop the rankings since the preseason. The Gamecocks moved up to No. 3 after becoming the first team to beat the Gators in a series in Gainesville, Fla., since 2009.

A second top-five upset—Oklahoma State's series victory against then-No. 5 Texas—allowed Arizona State to climb into the top five for the first time this season.

Georgia Tech extended the nation's longest winning streak to 16 games with a midweek win at Georgia and a sweep at Miami. The Yellow Jackets and California were the biggest upward movers in this week's rankings, each moving up three spots into the top 15.

Four new teams entered the Top 25. Stetson led the charge of new teams, entering at No. 20 after a 4-1 week that included a win at No. 7 Florida State. Troy jumped to No. 21 after sweeping Arkansas-Little Rock to remain undefeated in weekend series. Southern Mississippi's weekend series victory at then-No. 20 Tulane vaulted the Golden Eagles into the rankings at No. 22. Alabama extended its winning streak to seven games with a 5-0 week, capped by a sweep of SEC foe Kentucky, and got the final spot in this week's rankings.

The Pac-10 continues to have six teams ranked in the Baseball America Top 25, the most of any conference.

The staff of Baseball America determines the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are through games of March 27 and do not include ties.
