Berney Receives the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week Honor

Tucson, AZ - Clemson senior righthander Scott Berney (Hamden, CT) was one of five players cited that receive the Louisville Slugger National Player-of-the-Week honor given by Collegiate Baseball. Berney threw 8.0 scoreless innings against UNLV on Mar. 3, allowing just six hits and two walks while striking out five. He ran his scoreless inning streak to 30.0 innings in earning his fourth victory against the Rebels. Berney has allowed just has allowed 18 hits and three walks along with 20 strikeouts in four starts and 30.0 innings pitched this season.


In the polls, Clemson stayed put at #8 in this week's Collegiate Baseball rankings, dropped one spot to #16 in the Baseball America poll, and moved up two spots to #10 in the USA Today Baseball Weekly poll.
