The vibrating metal field and simulating it with football cards was better then.

It wasn't until tecmo super bowl (NES) that a football video game supplanted manual simulation. (Not stimulation)

I was playing tecmo bowl in the 80’s and it WAS awesome. Of course, Bo was off limits.
I have to admit, that trailer gave me cold chills! Enter Sandman is just way too cool for Va Tech! I’m ready to run through a brick wall! Let’s gooo!

to Bo Jackson in his breaking tackles. Barry Sanders was fast too. I didn't really like Tecmo Bowl before that one. So slow.

Yeah, but are there people sitting on the middle of the hill or is the carpet still rolled out. Until that gets fixed, this will always be a second rate gaming experience for me 😂

Great game, but have a few complaints.
Substitutions, especially auto and sim, were awful. As were rushing stats. Probably around 6 backs would go over 1000 yards in a season. I was disappointed could not complete road to glory then move into a dynasty with same teams.
Penalties were also strange.

I wish they would just do a yearly update to the previous game on the digital version, its basically just a roster update

No definitely some upgrades needed that are beyond just a regular update was. It just felt like a cheap Madden.
