This does not seem to be the huge discrepancy that everyone has been bemoaning. A paycheck of $46M seems to be pretty good for amateur sports.

I agree, pleasantly surprised we are that close to SEC. But seems like the big disparity doesn't start for another year or two when B1G and SEC renew their TV deals.

Exactly these are 24 numbers and we are behind almost 20m to the B1G. The new contracts for the SEC and B1G had not kicked in yet. That gap is going to grow larger over time and that will accumulate even worse year after year.

The league will also get a me contract.

We are spending NIL as strong as most anyone.

Our strategy should be focused on the spending side. Don’t spend foolishly!
We have what we need to be competitive!

Nice article. Clean look at the numbers, thank you T-Net

This irks me...I so wish we held ND hostage during the COVID season concessions:

ACC: $43.1 million to $46.4 million (outside of Notre Dame and its $20.7 million)

Peacocks.

I'm pretty sure Notre Dame adds more value than the money they get, just playing 5 or 6 ACC teams.

The old guard can’t seem to grasp ND adds more value than receive. It’s a win-win but their feelings are hurt so they continually whine

Yeah, I agree. Sucks the basketball team can't hold their weight with this removed from excuses.

You mean YOUR excuses, right?

Because money is sure one of your go-to excuses, even though money is NOT an issue for our basketball program. The football program helps them nicely.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No excuses needed, right - McNeese St is a GREAT team - they blew us out - just

Brad Brownell: Only Larry freaking Shyatt has a WORSE overall winning percentage among Clemson basketball coaches since 1975. Let that sink in. It's Larry Shyatt & then Brad Brownell.

The ACC spent 12 million on the lawsuits with FSU and CU but we reportedly only spent 2m and came out on top in the settlement? They way overpaid. Bafoons!

$20m is 3.5 beers per person per football home game. For those unable to consume alcohol at the games I’m good for at least 5 ;)

Do your part and close the gap by patronizing the taps!

Not a bad number per team for the ACC.

Wonder what the numbers are per conference and per team on monies being spent to try and buy the best team.

Well as most said on this thread not as big of a disparity as we thought but certainly the ACC needs to work hard on ways to increase revenue—hear that commish.

They should be pretty easy to do if ACC school would work harder on building championship type teams with their FB, Basketball, and Baseball programs. That's exactly the way that the SEC and the Big-10 does it and it's worked pretty well for them!!!

Two years is an eternity in college sports these days, but I imagine that kind of potential gap will be a part of any such similar story. We’ll also have an idea of what ACC success initiatives and TV rev share increases could do to mitigate some of the gaps for schools like Clemson then.
