Sellars and Jennings are both better than Nussmeyer , in this fan's opinion. At least , from the athletic standpoint and being able to create the play after the called play breaks down.

he was getting shook out of his shoes on those plays against Sellers. He wasn't the only one. Not really his fault as it was more the repetitive game plan to match up one of our linebackers as a spy to stop his running ability. Which failed for at least 3 of the 4 qtrs.
I'm sitting here shaking my head at that photo knowing Sellers is about to cut up field and run for about 30 yards. Its bad when you're watching a game knowing an opponent (especially our rival) is owning the moment and there apparently is nothing we're gonna do about it.
I know Coach Allen has watched the film on that game and hopefully knows the solution to that.

my apologies ... The App State QB1 didn't make the defense look like a HS Def

The only thing that made Goodwin into DC, was Dabo naming him as our DC, other than that he was no more of a DC than I am, and I wouldn't know where to begin!!!

From a pure running ability Sellers should easily be #1

Nussmeyer is an above avg QB with a decent arm but our DBs will shut him down for the most part. Sellers is like trying to tackle a fullback with the ability to throw the ball.

I think he's much better than above average, and I'd rather face Sellers unless Sellers has improved alot as a passer. Sure he's a dangerous runner, but I have faith that Tom Allen is going to shore up our tackling and run defense.

OK, I can give the coot QB his props on being a decent as a dual threat QB but, he really wasn't as good against us as some may have thought he was. I think by him getting away with a couple of jail breaks made him look to be better than he actually was. Also, he was playing against a Wes Goodwin defense but IMO if BV would have been our DC he would have pretty much been shut bc BV had gotten really good with shutting down dual threat QBs. Even under a make-believe Goodwin coached D they only won by a FG...

Good. I like having highly regarded teams and QBs playing against us. It enhances our chances for the playoffs.

Watching Sellars was as frustrating as watching Connor Shaw

None of the three qbs we lost to, Sellars, Shough, and Beck, were great last year. I'd say a bit better than average. A quality Clemson D would have shut all three of them down. Even the Texas qb was good but not great. Again, our run defense stunk.

I hope our pass defense last year was because we had so little pass rush. Here is where we Ranked.
Name G Att Comp Pct. Yards Yards/Att TD Int Rating Att/G Yards/G
Clemson 14 467 263 56.3 2989 6.4 22 16 118.78 33.4 213.5
Ranking 53
Another ranking page using a little different metric had us ranked 66th.
We need to be much better imo.
