Anyone saying Dabo is in it for himself can go suck it. He takes care of his kids and isn't afraid of making the tough choices. XT3 is a rare talent and hopefully, he can pull himself together and come back HUGE in 2021.

He will play in 4 games this season, if there is a season.

I gotta ask...how elite is XT really?
I mean, he's not a bad player. You definitely wouldn't describe him as a "bust". He's got an explosive burst and can flat-out strike you. But he's stiff, he doesn't bend well or redirect well, he sticks to blocks too much, I wish he was longer and a couple inches taller, and I haven't yet seen that driven killer streak I've seen out of elite ends like Shaq Lawson or Cle Ferrell. He actually kind of reminds me a bit of Tre Lamar - he's got some undeniable strengths that make him an asset, but there are also some limitations on his game and unless he gets himself a yogi and really improves his flexibility I question how in love with him NFL scouts are going to be.
I also hear the coaches are super, super-high on Myles Murphy, and Justin Mascoll might be ready to emerge as well and might have 1st-2nd round-type talent himself.
Is XT even going to be a starter when he gets back?

He is an elite pass rusher imo. He was just used in a different role due to our D we had to run last year to compensate for a lack of DT's.

Oh yeah XT is a stud. Last year he dealt with injuries and was a bit less effective in a three-man front. We can beat up on most everyone on the schedule without him. We should use XT for Norte Dame and the post season games and still get to claim a redshirt year.

Bresee's a DT, though.
Myles Murphy is the strongside end...and guys who have gotten a look at him are a bit in awe. Absolute manchild. Supposedly if any of the froshes are going to be the right-out-of-the-box instant-impact starter like Tyler Davis was last year, it's probably going to be Murphy.

If you haven't ever had a severe case of Strep Throat, you really don't know what running a high fever and feeling sicker than you've ever been in your life until you have experienced Strep Throat. I've had it twice in my life time, and the second time was the sickest I've ever been, and I actually thought that it was going to kill me. I know the feeling XT, and I know how weak the body feels during and after Strep, so it is best to just take your time to recover. The second time I had it, I was about 50, and it took me over a month to feel right again after it!!!

Really? That's interesting. I had no idea strep could be that way. I had it several years as a kid and it was a bit of fever, a little bit of sore throat, and great no school super mario time.

Of course, that does depend on if or how well he plays 4 games this year. We’ll see. But I see him going pro next year (or trying to). 80% chance imo.

Yep.. I had it plenty of times during my childhood and again as recent as 2014(?)..
It feels like you have something sharp stuck in your throat for a few days..
Not fun...

I almost hate to ask, but...
Has it crossed anyone else's mind that he may not be back?
Red shirt this year, graduates, and is immediately eligible to play somewhere else next year?
Just a thought.

There’s just too much talent at D-line for XT to gain 12 lbs and not work out when most of the young men in Swinney’s words were not impacted. XT will not be on the field because he would be 2nd or 3rd string in his condition. He may come back and get some reps late in the season and then consider transfer options. If BV and Swinney do not see tremendous spark, energy and star play, the reps just won’t be there. Mascoll, Breesee (20 lbs lighter than CW42) and more can step right in at DE and the D won’t miss a beat. Wish XT The best but he himself knows there are no free reps on the Clemson D.
