RIP, my best friend Chance

Sep 14, 2007, 11:05 PM

Well, I figured this was coming soon but I never really realized how hard it would it me. Today I went back home to Greenville to pick up a new phone. After leaving the Verizon store I stopped back by my house just to say hello to everyone.

Well, I walked into the backyard to pet my dog this afternoon because I didn't see him for a couple of weeks and I couldn't find him. After about 10 minutes of searching, I found him in his favorite dirt hole. I called him, but he didn't respond so I walked over to wake him up so I could play around with him for a little while before I left to come back to Clemson. He didn't move. Obviously, my dog, who was a beautiful 15 year old Golden Retriever, had passed on. I knew it would be coming soon, but apparently I just wasn't prepared for it.

This dog was a birthday present to me from my grandparents when I was 5 years old, and he was my best friend from the moment I saw him. Before moving away to Clemson I took him everywhere, we ran everyday, we went to the lake together, we went camping together, just everything in general. He was my buddy and a great dog.

I know, a lot of people are going to say "it's just a dog", but he was more than just a dog to me he was a friend and a companion and I loved him. He had basically been with me my entire life.

While I know posting this on tigernet isn't going to change anything, and is probably pretty pointless I just figured it may make me feel a little bit better to rant.

So at that I say rest in peace Chance, you had a good life I just hate it ever had to end.

Sometimes I love animals more than human beings

Sep 14, 2007, 11:51 PM

I was raised to love animals in our family and zero hunters also. I still reflect back on all of our lost animals. I remember we lost a yorkshire terrier on Valentines Day back when I was in high school. That was one tough day I had at school that day. They do love us owners unconditionally.

As for Vick, I wish they'd lock his pathetic a$$ up in jail along with OJ and break the key off.

Hang in there.
