For those that missed the slight against Clemson and don't

believe there is a bias, this was from the end of the Ohio State/Penn State game:

"Now we've seen everybody accross the country, we saw Clemson earlier this year, the one-point CLOSE game against North Carolina, we've seen LSU on the road in Tuscaloosa come through with a huge win, and now we've seen Ohio State in this top 10 matchup; answer the call, answer the adversity (some self inflicted), but partner, this is still in my estimation the best team in the land".

No they don’t but it’s making a sport I love just like watching the different political news channels. Sickening.

If that sickens you then you are way too sensitive.

I am not sensitive.....just mad about all this political crap that has infected every thing in this country ......which they all would shut up, go away, and stop it with all this BS......enough is is enough ......Go Tigers!!!!!

Curious as to why I'd even have to explain that.

Because this year’s CFB committee has basically admitted they are easily swayed and don’t really know what they are doing.

No it's not. If we win our next two games we're in. Simple as that. End of story.

point. It's still up to a group of people known as The College Football Playoff committee. They alone determine who gets in. They are influenced by other polls and the media narrative. You'd have to be brain-dead or naive to believe otherwise. It will be hard for them to deny us this year if we win out, but other teams who need it may not get a fair shake, and we may need a fair shake in years to come.

that an undefeated reigning national champion would get left out.

If you think this committee is not Brain Dead then you are the naive one.....they are like sheep and will run the way ESPN tells them too....which they have already proven .......Go Tigers!!!!!!

Yes I am sure a room full D1 ADs is a bunch of brain dead folks that just listen to the media. Get a clue dude. Why y'all so sensitive of people saying OSU is possible the best team this year? They have one of the best QBs and one of the best defensive players in the country. They have as much talent as any team including us when u look at recruiting. So why so butthurt? Ofcourse I think we would beat them but to think it's crazy for people to think they could beat us is just obsured to me.

that is even remotely what I was implying. The fate of everyone who gets into the playoff is 100% in the hands of the committee; that's my point.

You did say that, "it's almost a certainty" followed by, "the fate is in the hands of the committee".

It would certainly seem you're tying those two things together, otherwise who cares what the committee is swayed by at this point in the season? Win and we're in, period. No need for all the gnashing of teeth. At least that's my opinion. No big deal. I'm pretty sure everyone knows the selections are made by the committee and they may be influenced by the talking heads, but at this point it just doesn't matter. Sorry for using, "brain dead" and "naive".. I only used the words you did. My bad.

Tin foil hat? I'm just stating a fact - the committee ultimately decides who makes the playoff. I'm in no way suggesting that we will get left out of the playoff this year if we win out. If that's what you are reading into it, you have misunderstood. I'd simply like to have a responsible media who does not take cheap shots at Clemson while all but performing oral seks on their favorites.

Opposite of the announcers on the Northwestern/Minnesota game. They were saying that Clemson and Ohio State were the best teams hands down. Gave a lot of praise to the Tigers. That was on ABC.

How is that a slight? Sounds to me like he’s talking about the top teams facing adversity and coming out in top. What is wrong with you?

Is it a “slight” against us that he thinks OSU is a better team?

[1]

If he thinks they’re #1 and we’re #2, he is in line with a fair number of metrics. I don’t worry about it much. I’ll take our chances anyday and our battle-tested guys. Are you of the opinion that color commentators shouldn’t offer their opinion or analysis of which teams look better than others?

I'll lay it out for you.

He sums up the seasons of Clemson, LSU, and Ohio State ("Now we've seen everybody across the country") by pointing out our worst game of the year against a mediocre team, the only one that was not a dominating win, and big wins over top 10 teams for LSU and Ohio State.

Lol. Well what big wins is he gonna talk about tor us? We have none. What close one point wins against crappy teams is he gonna talk about for them?. They have none. Dude you are truly a snowflake. Maybe this sport isn’t for you if you can’t handle others opinions that aren’t 100% pro Clemson.

He said absolutely nothing that a normal Clemson fan would take offense to.

Since when is having an opinion being a snowflake?

ANALysts, primarily because (if I recall correctly) in all of our CFP appearances, save one, Clemson has not been favored due to the "superiority" of our opponents.

Yet, we have two national titles in the past three years. And, my Friend, that's all the commentating I care about.

responsible media, especially as long as everyone's fate is shaped in part by the narrative they create. This year, we'll be alright as long as we win every game; there may come a time when we need a fair shake, however. Having announcers that go out of their way to dis Clemson is wrong. Clemson deserves a little more respect after the accomplishments you mention anyway.

top 3 in the country, and quite honestly, no one has looked as good as Ohio State. Imo, they are the clear #1 team, but it will be hard for them to beat the SEC bias.

I agree that media, in all areas, should be more cognizant of spouting over inflated opinions and outright bias, but in this case I just don't see the "slight".

Good grief ... I'll give it one more go.

Posted: Nov 23, 2019 9:28 PM

When summarizing the seasons of the top three, they only mention our worst game of the year, and only mention the biggest wins of the year for each of the other two, as if that somehow tells the story. It's a bogus characterization of our football team and the season they've had.

but in my opinion it's just not worth. It matters none what any of them have to say regarding us at this point. We control it, period. Just be concerned with us. I'm sure Dabo would tell us the same thing.

Posturing, prejudice, influencing the weekly polls are very important for teams who do not finish 15-0.

We will have many months of smug satisfaction between seasons

I agree!

But a biased media with an axe to grind should not be above criticism.
