Barnes is gone.
Brownwell should have followed him 2 years ago.

The most impressive thing that Barnes did at Clemson was take a team of very average players and develop a winning team from theses guys. I think they were called the “slab five” by many. I’ll never forget that game in chapel hill!
I have often wondered what this team would have achieved if Sharon Wright hadn’t left early for the NBA.

Rick Barnes can coach. And he can recruit too. The kid he got from SC would have been a real catch for the Tigers

Barnes had decent classes, but could never get the top talent to come to Clemson.

We were finalists for several lottery pick type players who all ended up choosing the other school (Brendan Haywood to UNC and Steve Francis to Maryland were two).

I think that inability to recruit the stars to Clemson in order to reach the next level encouraged him leave when he did as much as anything else.

Barnes is 19-1 right now at Tenn with average players

was the key to his success at Clemson.

Otherwise, he didn’t sign any super highly rated recruits.
