Anybody else notice what Jamie Harrison has started with his ads in SC?

Everybody is aware of Harrison vs Graham, but now Harrison is putting out ads showing libertarian candidate Bill Bledsoe, who has already withdrawn but will still be on the ballot. His ads are saying that Bill was with Trump from day 1, against all abortions and anti any gun control. Saying he’s “too conservative for SC”.

How are these kinds of ads legal when it obvious he’s trying to split republican votes using a candidate that has already withdrawn?

They think people in SC are just plain stupid is what it boils down to.

They're doing exactly the same thing with Bledsoe the GOP is trying to do with Kanye West in the national race - introduce a third-party spoiler who can hopefully siphon off votes from their opponent.

In the case of Kanye - who is getting backing from several prominent conservatives, including Donald Trump Junior - the objective is pretty clear: try to rob Biden of some black voters who might indeed be alienated by Biden's long record in Congress and frequent foot-in-mouth gaffes like that famous "You ain't black if..." wonder-hit.

In the case of Bledsoe, they're pointing out to conservatives that there's a party on the ballot who's a lot more conservative than Lindsey Graham, who is none-too-popular (or trusted!) by the genuine conservatives in the Republican voter base.

Dunno if it actually works or not, since the trick is aimed at very low-information voters on either side who don't pay much attention to politics except maybe around election time, especially since an informed voter would know Bledsoe already dropped out and endorsed Graham. But he got himself on the ballot...so Harrison's camp - which has money to burn, if nothing else, their war chest is insane - is trying to siphon far-right votes they know they'd never get anyway away from Graham while at the same time pointing out that Lindsey Graham is not a real conservative but a self-serving huckster who changes sides more often than George Wallace ever did.

Personally I really dislike these kind of tricks, and I wish the ballot wasn't gunked up with these kind of candidates...because unless we were going to go to full ranked choice voting - which we should! - spoilers is all they are.
