Recruiting Notebook: 1/23

Everything Status Quo

Clemson’s recruiting weekend went as expected. The Tigers were not expected to land any new verbal commitments this weekend, at least from the class of 2006. The Tigers did receive their fourth verbal commitment for the class of 2007.

Pickens, South Carolina offensive lineman Wilson Norris fulfilled a lifelong dream on Saturday morning, when he committed to Clemson. Norris joins Willy Korn, Xavier Dye, and Jarvis Jenkins for the class of 2007, which is off to a very promising start.

Stevens Has Gone In The Dark

Craig Stevens did make his official visit this weekend, but he has gone silent since he left. We have even worked with other networks, and no one has reached Stevens. From our understanding, the visit went well, and the Tigers may benefit from getting Stevens last. We hope to reach Stevens tomorrow.

Prince Will Be The Next To Announce

Irondale, Alabama’s Rodney Prince will be the next prospect to inform Clemson of his intentions. We expect a decision from Prince by at the latest Wednesday. Right now, we feel Prince will honor his commitment to Mississippi State. Prince really likes Clemson, but he is a very honorable young man, and this is a decision he is really wrestling with. If Clemson would have been heavily after Prince from the beginning, we feel he would have landed at Clemson. Clemson is still very much in it, but we would be surprised if Prince made the switch.
