Story Time.........
So when we had our first, my MIL was adamant about getting these fancy pictures taken for a "panel". At the time, people were buying robots like crazy, making more money then we could spend, drowning in being a new dad, yada yada yada....never thought anything of it.
One of the pictures at the 9 month mark is this 9 picture panel of a bunch of different expressions. It's a neat photo, ngl, and the oldest's is hung up in the hallway.
Naturally, when #2 came along, we committed to doing the same pictures, same photographer, etc.
My wife picked up the 9 picture panel of dawghater2baby #2 Saturday morning. Lost in the shuffle of family drama, getting house ready for party, etc. I did not notice the CC bill or charges. Nor did my wife tell me.
Punchline:
I had a one thousand, nine hundred dollar charge on the Amex to Mr. Fancy Pants Photographer in Green Hills.

You ABSOLUTELY do not have to do the same for all kids, you can treat the younger one(s) worse. I keep trying to get this through my wife's head.
If kid #1 needs new shoes, that doesn't mean we need to buy three pairs of shoes. If kid #1 gets a $1900 photo shoot at Glamor Shots, kid #2 can get some iPhone pictures taken. It's about balance.

about that. The new iPhones take some amazing pictures, would recommend. I was kinda peeved my wife went and bought all new bat, glove, etc. just for tball....but at least those are tangible items he can use moving forward. Pictures not so much.

crazy frame to go with it? I feel like just in Tigernet and wherever TOTE1 is, we could have done this for less. Sure, the bar tap when I delivered it may get out of hand, but not that bad.

building a 10x16ft 4-foot elevated platform with pressure-treated wood, down by the creek behind our house, slapping up some pre-fab insulated shed, and running a drop cord from the house to the new "cabin". Kids would have a blast in it. Internet would work there. Electricity. Fire pit right outside. I'd only have to come in to drop a deuce or take a shower. And even then in the summer I could bathe in the creek, minus the sewage runoff and pesticides. Oh, and the neighbors calling the cops on a naked man in the creek.
Not there yet, but wife hasn't tried to have a $1900 set of photos taken of our kids. We've done $400 before. Tops. That bill might send me down to the creek.

She says I’m just living in scarcity mode and everything is fine. The dryer mother board was fried and we had to get a new one. $50 to haul off the old one, I said #### that I can haul it away for like $4 in gas. But was met w resistance of why can’t we just pay them to take it…
TL R I’m saving the $50 and taking care
of it myself.

and then the dump only accepts appliances every other Tuesday so you ride around with a gotdang dryer in the car for three weeks before you can take it and you complain to your therapist about it so they yank your CWP and then the Tigers blow a lead at CH and lose by three and you flip out and move into a shed you just built yourself down by the lake and one night your wife comes in unannounced and catches you playing snake games.

of the babbies and I got the same treatment. I knew it was gonna be bad when we went to the photographer’s/artist’s home and it was a mansion on a hill…and Mobile ain’t got that many hills. That was 20 years ago, had to go back 3 years later for the next babby. I’ve almost forgiven her.

We have north of 16,000 pictures and videos of our boy from 15 years ago. Probably dropped that down to a more manageable several thousand for the middle child, but she still did pretty well. Youngest probably has 4 or 5 grainy pics on a flip phone in a drawer somewhere.
