Considering skipping any spring mulch or pine straw, and just covering the landscape beds instead in a week’s worth of her fur. Holy Jesus this dog is a shedder.

Convinced my mom that Gooch was a good name. She watched a video of a skateboarder rail his taint on something and he said “oh my gooch!” My mom was all like “WHAT!? I’ve been yelling out for gooch in the neighborhood all these years?!”

puts that high dollar dyson to work on the reg
there's no stopping it. don't matter if I brush him, bathe him, let him swim...none of it puts a dent in the hair everywhere.
only positive is our lab isn't allowed on furniture, so nothing there, and his hairs black so it's easier to hide haha.

He said he doesn't eat the birds they shoot, and I said it seems a little unsporting to blast birds out of the sky just 'cause, and he followed it up with it being totally sporting because they donate them to a local Chinese restaurant post-hunt.

You have a fundamental misunderstanding, we eat everything we kill- ducks, doves, quail, turkeys, etc.
That particular hunting trip was in rural Washington state. I live in SC. There are crazy regulations about transporting migratory birds, to bring the meat home we would have to leave an intact wing attached to every breast, nevermind the issue of having to ice and ship a cooler back on an airplane. Most of the time if you travel to bird hunt, you don’t bring birds home.
Outfitters you go hunt with are used to this problem, they have groups of hunters, sometimes several per week, for months during their season. They have loads and loads of birds and don’t want to waste them, so usually they have agreements either with individual, with food banks, or with businesses. So yeah, that particular day hunting with that particular guide (Pacific Wings, highly recommend BTW) we traded birds for egg rolls, and that’s the gods honest truth.

I have heard allowing one's dog to swim in the Obed river near Crossville has almost miraculous powers to alleviate canine shedding or skin disorders.
It's a short drive for you.

If we actually ever get another one. Between her never ending shedding and all the children's toys, I'm ready to move into a shed in the backyard or something. It's one of those things I tolerate fine for awhile, and then one day it builds up to a point where I feel like totally snapping.

I have one golden..and its like yellow tumbleweeds across the floor 24x7.
I gave up on regular vacuums years ago. I only use shop vacs. When they start smelling too much like dog, I just throw it our and go buy another one.

they sometimes brush a whole second dog out of the "undercoat" of a German Shepherd or a Golden Lab's fur. It truly is amazing how much hair them doggies grow.
Golden Labs are runners, too. But, I submit that an Irish Setter is the world champion for that. I have seen those things just run for no apparent reason until their tongues are literally dragging the ground dripping sweat. Off their TONGUE.
