I've already updated my laptop, which took a work around.
Built a new PC with 11.
They've updated a lot of stuff they should have left alone, and then reverted back some of it.

in Windows 11 it takes THREE CLICKS to copy and paste something. ###? You have to access a separate menu from the standard right click menu to copy and paste. Like that's NOT one of the MOST COMMON things people do when right clicking? BS.
I've added registry hacks to workaround all this crap. Every new version I have to hack more and more things because Microsoft ##### #### up, more and more. Every...... time. Outlook, limits emails to 20MB. My POP server allows up to 35MB, so I had to hack that. Had to hack the start menu to get it looking like Windows 10, which still sucked but is better than this crap in the middle of the taskbar.
I still manage to login with a local account, and no matter how much Microsoft forces me to stay connected at the brain to their servers, I refuse to stay logged into Windows. That's another deal breaker if they disable local admin accounts.

I don't always use those shortcuts.

I did when I first got Windows 11 out of necessity. Now I'm back to using both techniques. Sometimes it's easier to use the mouse.

It doesn't take much to confuse me, as if that isn't obvious.

"Windows as a service" bit.
I bought Windows 7 in a store, then the Windows 7 ultimate/whatever upgrade.
Since then every PC I've built, including this one, has started off with Windows 7 Ultimate. Then upgrade to 10, then 11. No annual fees. If Windows 7 gets you to 10, then 10 gets you a free upgrade to 11.
I do pay yearly for Office 365, but that's for bidness, so I'm less impacted. I have still to pay for Windows as a service. Probably won't either. Not that bad to jump over to Linux. Safer as well from all this crap mentioned in the article.

OS upgrades are free and annual. They also try to keep old Macs being able to use them. Currently with the new M chips, there will be AI stuff that the old Intel based Macs will not be able to do.
I guess they price the OS into the cost of the computer. Same with iPhones obviously.
