Why do we still consider the Pac-12 a P5 conference?

Seriously. Do we just want to include them because many years ago they had a couple of teams (USC and UCLA) that were usually pretty good that played in the Rose Bowl?
How many years do we have to endure calling them a P5 conference when they never produce teams good enough to seriously compete with REAL P5 conferences?
I watch their games, and wow, NONE of them are any good. I'm glad that that entire conference is already eliminated from any possible consideration for the CFP.
And WHO decides that they should or should not be a P5 conference? That group/committee should be ashamed including them. There are other conferences that are stronger (example: UCF beat the crap outta Stanford, so maybe the AAC is closer to being a P5 conference than the Pac-12).

Well, I would have to argue that Pitt beat UCF, UCF beat Stanford, and Stanford just beat the preseason Pac-12 favorite Washington. I think the ACC is way better than the Pac-12. Not sure why anyone would consider the Pac-12 to be all that great. Their best team Oregon lost to Auburn, who just lost to Florida. I'm not impressed.
Please enlighten those of us that don't see the strength of the Pac-12, and tell us what makes that conference worthy of being a P5 conference.

The Auburn game is not one to judge from...never use the first game of the year for anything more than experience and a win...or a loss.
Oh...BTW, Cal beat the mighty SEC member, Ole Miss. PAC-12 plays good ball...it's just that most of us can't make it to halftime, if to kick-off.
I fly the Paw each weekend...and the O flag underneath it...because...the Paw doesn't 'bow' to anyone!
