When did Tiger Walk tradition begin?

Is the Tiger Walk relatively new? I graduated in '00 and the only "walk" I remember is the Tiger Band walk from the Amphitheatre down to the stadium. I don't even see Tiger Walk listed as one of the official traditions here:

I believe it started around the time Dabo took over as the official HC.

He started it to get the fans out to show support for the team and create a One Clemson attitude around a program that was needing it desperately because people were divided over the TB firing.

Was it always at the backside of the Westzone? I think this tradition should be even greater with the Oculus. How does Tiger Walk look at night?

...as the players get off the bus and head to the locker room. I havent been at night, just a couple times during day games. I will say that I was a student in '08 and I do remember being there for the first one.

It's 2 hours before kickoff every game. So there's never been one at night.

If a late season game is at 8 pm, isn't it dark at 6 pm?

It would be by 6pm, but I cant remember an 8pm kickoff...

... at Clemson after the time change late in the Fall. I might be wrong. Latest I can remember is 7pm with SCar '12.

Oh I dont think we were divided. TB needed to go. Maybe back then all werent sold on Dabo though
