Thought we had one of the best bullpens in the nation. Now it seems like we’re starting to get deep into the pen into questionable pitchers by the end of the Saturday game.

Injuries for one. Darden and Leguernic not working out and then MIA has hurt. Losing Titsworth and “losing” Bailey to the rotation has hurt. The five or six deep we have now are still good but slumping. Heavy drop off after McGovern in ERA.

Yeah if you still have Bailey and Titsworth in the bullpen it’s a different discussion for sure

You can add Garris with a back issue and Mahlstedt with a tired arm. Limping towards the postseason with anemic hitting and a costly error or two that helps add an exclamation point to the other areas. Trying to focus on how I felt at the Georgia game. It was electric, but it’s been painful since. I guess we can blame it on the beer garden. 🙁

Yeah we are having to lean too much on guys like Fitzgerald and Kieck because of these other injuries/moving guys to the rotation. Those two are talented and have a bright future for us, but they’re just not ready at this point in time.
