He’s definitely pushed the expanded playoff for some time. But he was touting leaving FSU out well before the selection show.

Folks around here loved them some four team playoff when we were making it. No reason to expand the playoff - the masses said.

To me those are endorsements of the committee and CFP selection process.

I was in that camp and I think it has been better up until this year. My concern with 12 was, and is, that after conference champs are in the rest of the bids will be divided between the highest ranked SEC and B1G schools.

It is a concern and it IS a made for tv/streaming product. I’m just glad that there are at least some auto qualifiers - though those auto qualifiers are based on the CFP rankings.

The thing was too many teams were being left out by SEC driven media bias and national influence by the media for the SEC.


8 is the best way. Next year there will be at least 3 that will have absolutely no business being in the playoffs.

He spent yesterday claiming the committee got it right. In fact, he lambasted FSU for having a "third-string QB that sucks.."
