According to Richard Newhisel on Full Ride today. It’s amazing how quickly college football changed for the worse.

So IF true, 85 x $20K x 12 = $20,400,000
Twenty million per year.
Chump change for the inbreds...

when they legalized cheating you had to know UGA was about to turn elite. Who else is/has been more dirty than UGA in the last 40 years? The only other may have been SMU and they got smacked. I mean, its legal now so it's technically not "dirty" anymore i guess but its unfortunate that this is what college football has turned into.

A good friend of mine who is an attorney in Columbia and well connected with Gamecock athletics told me Spencer Rattler is getting 2 million a year.

My understanding is Rattler got $2 million last year and he requested $5 million to come back. After a long night of negotiating they agreed somewhere in between for him to return.

there's some principle with a name that basically says that the very few in a field make most all the money. This is true for writers, commentators and broadcasters, athletes, musicians, artists, actors, you name it. And I suspect, NIL athletes as well. Makes "averages" deceiving and not an accurate portrayal. So in a way, the situation is even worse, because it's not spread out. I'm guessing the UGA earners is top heavy with big-name players making the most (probably skill positions). And other lesser players getting very little of this pie. Just my guess.

If the rumors are true, PJ Hall may be getting about $40k per month to play a 4th season. It’s everywhere now.

It’s called wealth inequality. And The Government needs to seize wealth from those that have more than they need (politicians exempted) and give it to those who don’t have enough. You know, for Equity.

It’s Pareto’s Principle. It applies to many phenomena. It is the reason medical practices use PAs and nurse practitioners. 80% of their patients have only 20% of the diagnoses that might be identified. In business, 80% of sales are attributed to 20% of the customers.
The actual percentages don’t have to be 80 and 20 or add up to 100. The relationship is described as the “trivial many and the vital few.”

June of 2022, Ryan Day stated that he needed $13.000,000.00 to keep his team intact. UGA’s number of 20 million is probably true.

Are we not recruiting at an elite level and losing no stars to the transfer portal? Must still be a level playing field.

I hope that you are correct but, time will tell. NIL, Covid, and DJU all hit at the same time. Dabo is not going to change the type of players that he recruits and I am thankful for that. I need to see how Clemson football performs the next couple of years to have a better feel for where the team is heading. Since Dabo has been vocal on the need for some changes, I have to feel that he is seeing an impact.

Saban is advocating for a PLAYERS UNION…I agree…

At this point, you have to go “all in”. I hope the CALI “players union” suit goes through and becomes law.
Then, all of a school’s student-athletes will be EMPLOYEES of the university. PERFECT!! Then, they can truly make life for the university athletic department a living h311, e.g., labor strikes, pay negotiations, union bosses, etc.
I’ll love it immensely when a team’s players STRIKE a GAME or BOWL or better yet, a NATIONAL TITLE game in order to bring “management to the table”. PRICELESS, absolutely, PRICELESS!!

Ive said it repeatedly: Just make a minor league NFL already
Jun 13, 2023, 9:37 AM

Because thats what this is rapidly becoming. Then, they can pretty much dissolve any actual connection to the University itself. At that point, the schools can start up true amateur teams again with true student athletes. It will in some ways be similar to college baseball. Yes, some of the better talent will go straight to the minor leagues, but youll still have some really good ball players in the college game. I much prefer that scenario vs the #### show this is turning into.
