I don't love the SEC refs, but honestly, our ACC refs have often been vastly worse, especially lately.
Still, I don't think it matters. Everyone makes extra mistakes in week 1, from the players to the refs to the TV camera crews & more, but we will have so many built-in advantages, a better roster overall, & playing at night in Clemson for week 1 in particular most likely negates even the worst-case "fixes" anyone could try on us.
Somebody's gotta lose, neither we or LSU have won a season opener in 4 years, & it's interesting he notes Klubnik is his #1 QB overall.
I think Clemson wins at night at home in week 1 outright, & next year it will be a revenge game for LSU in Baton Rouge but both of us with different QB's. Can't wait. Go Tigers!

This is the most excited that I've been for a opener since Auburn in 2016. What's better is that I dont have to drive to Alabama to see it. It may also have to do with shaking off the memories of our last game at DV.

All I know is if I were 0-3 in my last 3 openers
the real Death Valley in Clemson is not who I would have scheduled
in my next opener to get back on the right side of that equation.

To be fair, this game was scheduled in 2018 (i.e., even before Trevor Lawrence, & 3 years before Brian Kelley was hired).
Also, for what it's worth, LSU is worse than 0-3 in season openers; they've lost their last 6.
The last time they won a season opener was the last time they went undefeated & won a national championship.
I think they're going down in this year's opener, too, but next year we go there for a likely night game to start the season. Not sure this year's game will even be competitive by the end, but next year will likely be closer (still going with Clemson, though).

1. The date of the actual scheduling is irrelevant
Nobody that has gone 0-3 in their last 3 openers wants to play Clemson at their place
in an attempt to " right the ship ".
2. Kelly is 0-3 in his last 3 openers. It may be worse for LSU but " to be fair "
he didn't lose them all. Kelly is on the hotseat , not LSU.
3. Yes , in addition to what you stated that team also whipped us for the aforementioned
national championship.
4. So , on top of everything else this a revenge game and I'll be content with a hard fought
one point win , however part of me wants take them behind the woodshed.
